THE GARY & CURT SHOW

Gary (*KING) Dickinson and Curt Davis ran away with The Ebonite Senior Tour Annual  Member-Member Tournament at Bowl Texas in Lake Jackson. Rick Ramsey and Steve Ray were a solid second. The pre tournament favorites, Jim Ensminger and Rick Minier ran third. Ensminger scared his partner on every first shot sending the ball from the left side all of the way hanging over the gutter and returning to the pocket,  The slip stick on the approaches kept the scores low, it took only -17 or better to make the finals. The lanes demanded a big boy shot, there was no tug and just a little swing.
Notes: Joe Roland rolled 108 to win the dog of the week award for low game of the tournament. John Denton had a fine 120 game in the Friday sweeper and was worried that that could win the dog prize, Fridays don't count, Walt Banks and Dave Hoff had the most strikes and the most opens in the tournament for one team. Superstar Mark Estes had twice as many gutter balls as did Superstar Jim Ensminger.  Rick Ramsey bowled the whole finals with a coat on. Ernie wasn't there. Phil Ballard beat his partner 563 pins to drag the team into the finals.
On a very sad note, Wyatt Slaughter passed away May 2nd of a heart attack. If you would like to make a donation for funeral expenses send to Sherrie Slaughter, 1205 Circle Drive, Bedford, TX 76022.
