HO HUM NEWMAN AGAIN

Maury Newman broke out of a seven player log jam in the seventh match to lead the Ebonite Senior Tour Tournament at Park Central Lanes in Port Arthur. Newman had to bowl Steve Ray that final match for the win, if he bowled enough to not let any big game win pass him. Ray pelted the pocket but to no avail while Maury won the match and the tournament. Ray was demoted to fifth, being passed by Rudy Garcia in second, Skipper Aresnault in third, and Dennis Francis in fourth.  Newcomer Mike Fleming led the qualifying but won only two matches. Derek Williams had the center looking clean and beautiful as usual.
Notes: Johnny Darcey won the dog of the week award shooting 126 low game of the tournament. Richard Britton made the finals!!!! Avery LeBlanc could not carry. Jesse Jackson charged too late to make the finals. Paul Martinez got his first check of 2002. He would have made the finals if he understood English.  Paul, a weak ball is one that does not finish. David Goodwin cashed in his first try.  Stan Workman did not score very well and did not lament.  He admitted it was his timing.  A new first!
Entries are coming in fast for the Fire Cracker $10,000.00 next month. We only have room for 128 in the tourna
