SMITH REPEATS ENNIS

Dick Smith won the Ebonite Senior Tour , Super Senior event for the second year in a row. Dick needed an 86 game if opponent Norm Clark was to roll 300 to be the champ. Smith out averaged the next man by a whopping 13 pins. Clark was second followed by Skee Foremsky in third, Frank Keith fourth, and Charles Avant fifth. Great bowling guys!!!!
There were 10 lefthanders in the field of 94. Eight made the finals, they captured the first five places, and $4,870.00 of the $11,625.00 total prize fund. The last SS tournament in Shreveport only one lefty cashed and that was the last spot. There has been a great deal of chatter on the SASBA message board and a ton of phone calls about the lefty righty problem.  The management of the Ennis Bowl made an investment in their lane machine to try to correct last year runaway by the lefties. They really care and tried to have an equal shot. I know it was hard for the 84 right-handers to watch the lefties strike at will when, if you got the ball a board wide, it was nose and a board inside, it was the ten pin or the unmakeable bucket. Remember this is nothing new! We got through cycles just like the last few tournaments every now and then. If you will check with Mark Estes, our stats man, he says that SASBA headquarters division, has a better record than any other organization with the lefty righty problem. We have the greatest bunch of members anywhere, we have lots of tournaments, different formats, competition, over $100,000.00 added money, great friends, and we are staying alive. I will
