MINIER WIN BIGGEST

The Ebonite Senior Tour chalked up its largest entry, 185 bowlers, in Plano.  Rick Minier hung on to win the event. Maury Newman came from the pack roaring into third for the final position round, then rolling a fine 279 game, forcing Minier to mark in the tenth. Rick was up to the challenge striking out for the victory.  Mark Estes, who was in second rolled a fine 255 to beat Minier, but not enough to hang on to second, finishing third.
Notes: Carl Hensely won the dog of the week award with 114 low game of the tournament.  Ed Vowell had a fine 300 game but had to withdraw with +268 score Sunday due to a bad back. John Woessner wore Colonel Sanders white suit Saturday to bowl.  Jim King, the big twister, left the solid 5-8-10. Wonder what that ball weighs? Ewine Adcock, Rick Thurber, and Jackie LeCroy made their first finals.  Dewey Owens, Ronnie King, and Jim Holt won their first checks. We paid out 76 checks. John Riley was showing everybody, that would look, his check. Bill Keenan was lamenting about all of his taps, guess he was the only one that got tapped. Fred Engquist just bowled great (the first 18 games). Maybe Fred has been getting lessons from Charlie Lacy.
