Text Box: LeCroy Wins 4th SASBA Title Text Box: Entering the final game, Jim Stephens led Joe LeCroy by only 7 pins, so whoever won the match would win the tournament. Jim shot 235, but Joe started with the front 5, stone 8, ring 7, then another four bagger to ice the victory. Rick Minier beat all the righties to grab 3rd and Jim King was 4th, Vic Benedict shot 289 the last game to round out the top 5. Thanks to the staff at USA Bowl for being great hosts. The center was clean, the shot held up Text Box: well and everyone found a room, thanks to the Cowboys losing. David Rountree made his first singles finals in 2 yrs. It is good to see David rebound from injury to bowl well again. Others who ended recent slumps were Don Robinson, Tim Miller, Rudy Garcia and Steve McBride, who made the finals from the early squad Sunday. Richard Jacoby won the most matches and finished 6th. John Hawkins wasn’t going to bowl, but Text Box: did and made the finals. Our next tournament is in Oklahoma City at Holiday Lanes on February 2-3. The first weekend in March, we will be at TimberLodge Lanes in Monticello, AR. The field there will be limited to the first 64 paid entries. I’s sure it will fill up, so get your entry in now to avoid getting shut out. Text Box: Bert Morrison had a beautiful 135 to nail down “Dog of The Week” honors. Rick Eckert made his first finals, leading the qualifying and finished 10th. Billy Ketner Text Box: joined the “Lily Club”. Gordon Stuntz was there to make the presentation. Sam Magill lost his thumbhole in the qualifying. Shannon Starnes lost his in the Text Box: finals. Murray Foreman hurt his ankle. We hope he is OK. Eckert, King and Rick Talley had the only 300’s. There were no 800’s.
