Text Box: The Jelly Bellies team of Bob Freehauf, Robbie Kauffman, Thurman Thomas Sr., Tom Wolf, and Gary Woodard qualified 4th, then ran the table in the stairstep Baker-style finals to win the Annual Team Tournament at Plano Super Bowl. The quintet had more than enough strikes to overcome any open frames and squeaked by the qualifying leaders the Grumbling Grinches consisting of Stoney Burkes, John Sands, Chuck Schwakhofer, Jack Van Arsdall and Tam Wasson. Text Box: Billy King, Don Ratliff, Gordon Stuntz and Jack Wallisch got 4th, and Carl Hensley, Joe Keylon, Paul McCordic, Greg Staton, and Bill Stayton rounded out the top five. Once again, SASBA bowlers made this the most fun tournament of the year. There was lots of smiles, good cheer, friendly ribbing and Christmas spirit. Text Box: scoring and snack bar was great! Our next tournament is a member/guest at Crossroads Bowling Center in Beaumont, TX on Jan 3-4. Remember the new rule regarding eligibility. No two former member/guest champions may bowl together. Two weeks after that, we will be at Lightning Bowl in Pasadena. They have new owners and are committed to making this a successful tournament.
