General’s team almost made the stairstep, but lost the Text Box:       It was good to see Jim Paine and Paul Coover back from surgery. No after-effects were noticeable as they kicked our butts. Text Box:         The Big Ones team of Joe Keylon, David Zappitelli and Avery LeBlanc qualified 2nd, then beat the Smash Times team of Rick Minier, Roger LeClair and Bryce Ellison before facing qualifying leaders Puma… Joe LeCroy, Maury Newman and Gary Pfeil. Puma had 3 splits as the Big Ones  managed to stay clean, except for 1 missed spare. The final score was 214-192. It was the first SASBA title for Keylon, second for Zappitelli and ninth for Avery.
       The Tornados team of Roger West, Jim Text Box: Ensminger and Doug Hayes qualified 5th and lost the first stairstep game of the finals to the Cougars...Steve McBride, Doug Barron and Gary James...214-178. They then lost to the Smash Times 258-195.
         Thanks to Rusty Dickinson and crew for being very gracious hosts. They were attentive to detail and went out of their way to make us fell welcome. We will be back there for the Annual Championship in the fall. 
       There were new members, regulars and Text Box: bowlers who hadn’t bowled in some time there and a good time was had by all. This is a fun format and smiles and grins were in abundance.
      Our next tournament is in  New Braunfels at Fiesta Lanes. The field is limited to the first 90 paid entries. Don’t get shut out. The following week, we will be at All Star Lanes in Shreveport for a Super Senior singles event.
