Text Box:         In the 60 & over division, Maury Newman survived the Winner’s bracket, then suffered his first loss vs. Fred Barnes forcing another match for the title! Maury ran off an early 6-bagger to seal the victory and gain his 12th SASBA title. Jim King got 3rd and Bob McGregor and Fred van Haasen were 4-5.
       In the 50-59 division, Rick Minier was undefeated until losing by one pin to Steve Ray in the title round….also necessitating a 2nd match. Steve couldn’t carry and Rick ground out a victory, earning his 11th SASBA title. Larry Reynolds got 3rd and Doug Hayes and Tam Wasson got 4-5.
Text Box:        Thanks to Jamie Brooks and crew for hosting again this year. The lanes were high scoring and the center looked beautiful.
      300s were shot by Mark Williams, Vic Benedict, Jim King, Tam Wasson, Maury Newman and Steve Ray had 3 of them….one each day.
     The 2-game matches produced some of the most competitive matches ever, as 11 matches were decided by less than 10 pins...3 by 1 pin and 3 by 2 pins. 14 bowlers shot 500 or better in the match play and 4 bowlers shot 500 and lost.					Our next Text Box: tournament is the over 50/over 60/over 67 trio next week in OKC. We only have 2 spots left. A regular singles follows in Alexandria, LA, then we go to Odessa, TX for a Super Senior/Guest doubles event.
       The Annual championship and the over 60/ over 70 tourneys have switched dates. The tourney at Showplace Euless is now September 26-27 and the Corsicana event is October 10-11.
