Text Box: both left the lily. Mark Estes had an MM. Tom Hay had the only 800.
Text Box: Mark Williams is on suicide watch after Zapp beat him…...again. Four of the top five teams had Text Box: bowlers over 70. Freehauf’s back is sore from carrying his team. Jim Stephens and Billy Young Text Box: Jim’s Notes
Text Box: The Big Ones team of Mario Colaluca, Bob McGregor and Jim Stephens qualified 3rd, then knocked off The Ones (Jamie Brooks, Jim Ensminger, Rick Minier) and bowled for the title against leaders Smash Times (Fred Barnes, David Rountree, Tam Wasson). The Smash Times struggled with carry while the Big Ones ran off a double and turkey. A late turkey by Mario, Bob and Jim dashed any comeback hopes of Fred and crew. Mario Text Box: threw 3 strikes in the title match to help get his first SASBA title. Way to go Mario! It was Bob’s 31st SASBA title and Jim’s 13th. The Big Times (Boyd Clark, Maury Newman, Joe Lecroy) got 4th and the Pin Slashers (Jim Paine, Gary Dickinson, Jerry Swank) rounded out the top five.
Thanks to Jerry and Kathy Beavers and crew for hosting this great event! They were wonderful hosts, as usual. The shot was fair and high scoring for those who could figure out the carry.
Text Box: It was great to see the over 67 members competing and having fun. Anyone who thinks that bowlers outgrow their competitiveness hasn’t seen our guys bowl.
Our next tournament is a regular singles in Alexandria, LA. The following week, we have a Super Senior/Guest doubles in Odessa, TX.
