Text Box: Text Box: Mike Holland pulled Ron DePolo’s bag out of the paddock and put on his shoes and if Ron hadn’t said something, would have bowled in them I guess? Another senior moment! Servantes had to caddy for Pender for a change. “Salvatore” Santo Text Box: bowled great and along with O.D. Wingard and Stan Workman has become everyone’s idol. That trio is 241 years young and still throwing it great! Gessner and Schwakhofer both threw a shoe! The “Rocket” just missed!

Text Box: After many years of coming close, DeWayne Thompson bowled steady during qualifying and figured out the pattern better than anyone else in the finals to squeeze out his first SASBA title in an exciting match over Ted Vascocu. Ted had an early open, then ran off a 6-bagger giving him the lead...as he had to win the match by 23 pins to win the title. DeWayne came back with some strikes and entering the 10th, Ted could strike out to make DeWayne double. Ted got the first one, then hung a 7-pin...forcing DeWayne to get 9/9 to win. He struck on the first Text Box: ball...sealing the deal. Congratulations DeWayne! Joe Vito got 3rd, Gordon Stuntz won 4th and Robert Dunaway rounded out the top five.
Thanks to Joe Vito and the Bandera Super Bowl crew for hosting us again.
Daniel Adkins and Ron Ramicone had the only 300s.
Next week, we’ll be in Euless, TX for our Annual Championship. Half the field cashes in that one. Entry fee is $230. There will be a 2nd chance tourney on Sunday for those who don’t cash with $500 added money.
Text Box: The over 60/over 70 doubles is fast approaching and we already have 39 teams. Only room for 9 more, so don’t get shut out. We already have 24 teams entered in the Plano foursome in November. That one will fill up as well, so it’s time to start finalizing your teams.
