Text Box: Mark Williams struggled somewhat in the qualifying Sunday morning and qualified 8th, but zoomed to 1st place after a 279-280 start and never relinquished the lead as he won his 8th SASBA title at AMF Showplace Lanes in Kenner, LA.

Super Seniors finished 2-4 as Jim King got 2nd, Willie Wells got 3rd and Butch Calvert was 4th. A.J. Vincent rounded out the top five.

Mike Davis and Randy Shewmake made the finals in Text Box: their first tournament and Bruce Himbert got a check in his SASBA debut. Paul Coover made the finals in his return from the disable list and finished 9th.

Thanks to Rusty Bethley for getting Treasure Chest Casino to sponsor this tournament. The shot was fair and high scoring and the staff was very efficient.

It was our first time in the New Orleans area in several years and we had over 20 New Orleans area bowlers participate. Text Box: This would be a great place to have a yearly event.

In two weeks our Foursome tournament in Plano will take place. We have a full 48 team field with a long waiting list. The following week, we’ll be at Delmar Lanes in Houston, TX for the Bob Summerville Memorial Tournament. This is limited to the first 88 entries.
