Text Box: Jim King trailed Joe LeCroy by 112 pins entering the final game so Jim would have to win the match by 83 pins to pass him. Joe was hitting the pocket, but couldn’t double and had a split in the 5th. Jim started striking in the 4th frame after three spares and ended with a 267. Joe had a strike in the 9th and needed the first one in the 10th for the win and spare/strike for a tie. He left a flat 7, then spared it and on the fill ball, he left the deepest, flushest Text Box: smash 10 you’ve ever seen...giving him a 184 and giving Jim his 16th SASBA title.
Steve Wright got 3rd, Mark Williams finished 4th and Rick Minier rounded out the top five.
Thanks to Mike Holland and crew for being great hosts. The shot was fair and the hospitality was excellent!
Dennis Bolding made his first finals and Lee Ellison was back in the finals Text Box: again...though he finished behind brother Bryce. 300s were bowled by Jim, Joe, and first-timer Larry Moore. 800s were turned in by Joe and Rick.
Our next tourney is the Age Bracket Tournament at Cityview in Ft. Worth followed by a Super Senior event at Bandera Super Bowl in San Antonio.
