Text Box: Text Box: At 72, Albert was the youngest in his foursome… the first time in 20 years that has happened to him. Rick Minier made his 14th finals in a row...maybe a SASBA record. The four qualifying Text Box: leaders were Bryce, Robbie Kauffman (50-56), Leon Schon (63-69) and Tom Pfeil (70& over). Truman Kennemer made his 2nd finals in a row and Jerry Eddy just missed.

Text Box: In the first ever Age Bracket Tournament, the stage was set for high drama among the four finalists with Mike McHugh surviving the 50-56 bracket, Bryce Ellison the 57-62 bracket, Avery Leblanc outlasting the field in the 63-69 bracket and 83 yrs. Young O.D. Wingard the 70 and over bracket. O.D. and Mike had early turkeys, but in the 6th frame, it was still anyone’s game as all four were zeroed in on the pocket. 10-pins stopped Avery’s and Bryce’s run and entering the 10th, Text Box: Mike had only a 10 pin lead on O.D. 30 in the pit secured the victory for Mike and O.D. held on to 2nd place. Bryce was 3rd and Avery 4th.
Thanks to Bill Blackerby and staff for hosting us in our return to Cityview Lanes after a 2 year absence.
The 2nd chance final was won by Bill Anderson (57-62 bracket), followed by Willie Jackson (63-69), Gary James (50-56) and John Precourt (70 & over).
72 year old Albert Waites shot the only 300 during the Text Box: qualifying...his first in SASBA competition.
Our next tournament is a Super Senior event at Bandera Super Bowl in San Antonio, TX, followed by the Annual Team Tournament at Plano Super Bowl in Plano, TX.
Note the schedule changes to the 2010 slate at USA Bowl in Dallas and the addition of a SS event at Denton, Tx.
