Text Box: Text Box: Beavers left the lily. Judy Vogel won bragging rights for the New Orleans gang. There were six teams from N.O.; two made the finals and two cashed.
Text Box: Estes had back-to-back 300s in the sweeper. Kirk had a MM, but made the finals. Never have so many “animal” teams missed the finals.

Text Box: At Armadilla 1 in Pasadena, Marvin Biagas and John Williams bowled steady throughout the finals and won 12 of 16 matches to beat a quality field. It was Marvin’s first win and he has bowled so seldom that they went in the pool in the Calcutta…another SASBA first.
Tam Wasson and Chris Johnson got 2nd. Billy Young and Pete Thomas were 3rd. Gary James and Jacob Heger led the qualifying and finished 4th. Rudy Garcia Sr. and Rudy Garcia Jr. rounded out the top five. It was an exciting finals as the lead changed hands Text Box: twelve different times in 16 games and 5 different teams held the lead.
Thanks to Randy Ray, Dana and Bobby Browder for being great hosts. The food at the bowl was great and they did a lot of work to get ready for us. The shot was extremely high scoring as it took +539 to qualify. 300s and 800s were abundant.
Don Cote made the finals in his first tournament. SASBA members, please be nice to Don. He owns a donut shop.
Our next tournament is the Firecracker in Plano, Text Box: TX. This is two tournaments in one. Seniors and Super Seniors bowl separately and have separate prize lists. Half the field cashes in each tournament.
Following the Firecracker, we’ll be at Holiday lanes for an over 50/over 60/over 67 trio event. This tournament will probably fill at 32 teams, so get your entries in early.

The mixed foursome in San Antonio was cancelled. It is possible that a replacement tourney will be rescheduled later.
