Text Box: Text Box: Gordon needs a navigator during the squad to know where to go. Jerry Eddy made it. Rob Pohlman just missed. Dorin got a check. Cue got a check. Neptune has a new “hovercraft”. Danny lost 44 lbs. Yee Ha was Text Box: sighted. Kathy bowled. Gail broke her toe in the starting blocks. Bill Taylor drove all the way from Birmingham, then threw a shoe in the 7th game Saturday and had to WD. Good luck Bill.

Text Box: You always hear the expression “every pin counts.” Well, Danny Adkins proved it at the non-champions tourney at Cityview in Fort Worth. Danny tied for the last spot and made the finals by winning the tiebreaker. One pin less and he wouldn’t have made the finals at all. He then averaged over 250 and took the lead with one to go. 74 yrs. young Albert Waites led from the first game thru the 6th. Leon Aragon shot 823 in games 5-6-7 to move into 2nd. Albert and Mark Saale were tied for 3rd and 4th…13 pins behind Leon. No Text Box: one could shoot a game big enough to pass Danny though, as he shot 246 to hold off everyone. Albert passed Leon for 2nd and Mike Lynch passed Mark for 4th. Mark finished 5th in his first finals.
Thanks to Bill Blackerby, Ryan Boroff, Mickey, Colleen et al for being gracious hosts. The shot was the USBC Blue pattern and though some had trouble matching up, the scores stayed consistent the whole weekend.
300s were shot by Darrell Coats, Text Box: Jesse Casteneda, Roger Parish and Sal Grieco. There were multiple 299s as well. We had several first time bowlers and this was the biggest non-champs tourney in some time…if not ever.

Our next tournament is at Copperfield in Houston, TX next week. The following week, we’ll be in Odessa for a 50/60/guest trio tourney. Let us know if you want on a team…as we have several twosomes looking for a 3rd member.
