Text Box: Mark Williams’ spare ball broke and we presented him with the missing chunk and super glue to fix it before he returns to the PBA. DeWayne stole half my supper and still ate his as well Fri. night. Mickey got his jacket back. Don’t forget the Conway, AR tournament is right before the Firecracker Shootout in Tulsa, Ok. Only a few hours apart and the Tulsa tournament starts on Wednesday with the Dr. Dean Hinitz Seminar.
Claude Thomas was so tight, he would only feed his partner breadsticks. Dale’s back is sore from carrying Bill. Lundgren only missed two 7-pins...a record! Chuck Maher beat Claude Maher.

Text Box: Paul McCordic-Mark Williams Win in Baton Rouge!
Text Box: Sweeper Winners
Text Box: After several top 5 finishes, Paul McCordic nabbed his first SASBA title with partner Mark Williams at Don Carter’s All Star Lanes in Baton Rouge, LA.
David Roundtree and Marz Laracuente led the qualifying and built a 260 pin lead in the finals Sunday morning, but couldn’t keep up the pace and finished 4th. DeWayne Thompson and Doug Martindale took the lead with 6 to go, but relinquished it to Maury Newman and Billy Oatman. They stayed on top until the 16 game, where they lost the game and the lead to Paul and Mark. Entering the final game, Maury’s team needed to win the match by 15 pins and both had to keep an eye on T.J. Johnson and Eric Roddy who were close behind in Text Box: 3rd. Paul and Mark grabbed a slight lead early, but a 7-pin and bucket by Paul let Maury and Billy catch up. They struck out from the 8th, forcing Paul to strike on the first ball in the 10th, he calmly struck out to insure the victory, winning the last game 259-257. T.J. and Eric fell to 5th and DeWayne and Doug got 3rd.
Thanks to Kim, Bonnie and Johnny at DC for all their help. The bowl has undergone extensive remodeling and will be completed when we go back there in October for our Annual Championship.
This was a tough field and we had several new members compete. Lamar Bramblett and Hayes Taylor made their first final.
