Text Box: history. Many, many matches came down to the last shot of the 3rd game. There was one tie with a sudden-death rolloff. There were some new faces in the finals and all acquitted themselves well.
The Richard Butchee family had several representatives who threw out a ceremonial first ball. Some struck and some went in the gutter, but it was great to see all them committed to honoring their recently deceased patriarch.

Text Box: Sweeper Winners
Text Box: SASBA rookie David Ozio continued his hot bowling and led the qualifying, then lost only two games in match play as he won The Richard Butchee Memorial Labor Day Blowout at Lafayette Lanes.
He defeated Lance Chien 2-1, swept Mike Krohn and Ray Vescovo, then snuck by Randy Summers 2-1 before facing Dale Eagle who had yet to lose a single game. Eagle had the early lead, but a pocket 7-10 gave Dave the lead and he never looked back, winning 279-269 to Eagle’s 248-Text Box: 214. Congratulations to both.
Randy and Paul McCordic bowled great to get 3rd and 4th.
Thanks to the Butchee family and Lafayette Lanes for being super hosts. All of the extras and hospitality really made us feel at home. The lane conditions were like Jekyll and Hyde, as they were as easy late Sunday and Monday as they were hard the first three blocks.
