Text Box: ABC and PBA Hall of Famer, George Pappas, shot a big 1028 block Sunday morning while everyone else was struggling, to take the lead and then ran away in the finals at Cumber land Lanes in Antioch, TN.
Mike Fleming came on strong at the end to nab 2nd, Dale Eagle got 3rd and Jerry Swank finished 4th. First-timer, Greg McMahan bowled great to finish 5th.
Thanks to Hal Foster and staff for being gracious hosts. They had 90 for the Pro-Am and everyone had a good time. The shot was difficult on both sides and many who could find the pocket, couldn’t carry.
We had 67 entries, a record for this region, outside of Louisiana.
Dale Hill and Text Box: Bruce Hammer made their first finals. George Lord not only got “Dog of the Week” with a brilliant 122, but left a lily. Rick and Marta were almost late.
Doc Williams, Jim Moore and Bernie Carlisle set a new SASBA record for the oldest threesome in the sweeper...216 yrs. young. Huckelberry showed up with a “Tahiti tan”. Brownie’s new attitude didn’t work.
1st timer, Mike White, tied for the last finals spot, but lost the tiebreaker. Kenny Cantu also cashed in his first tournament. I’m still looking for my wheels.
Our next tournament is in Jackson, MS in two weeks. Please enter early for this team tournament in Jackson, MS. The total number of Text Box: Text Box: Ralph Siebe
Bernie Carlisle
George Pappas Don’t Text Box: forget to enter early for the team tournament.
